Plaza Independencia









 
This park is one of the historical Plaza in Cebu.
Its name symbolizes the freedom from all the conquerors that tried to take over the island of Cebu.
Its century old trees witnessed what the place had been through during the colonial days.

Various names have been used to refer to the Plaza Independencia throughout its history.
From Plaza de Armas to Plaza Mayor and change to Plaza Maria Cristina. Then, it was called Plaza Libertad, and now Plaza Independencia.

You can found monuments built in some known names in the history such as:
Miguel López de Legazpi - Spanish navigator who also became the first Governor-General of the Philippines.
Other is Chronicler Antonio Pigafetta, President Ramon Magsaysay and some war veterans
The Pigafetta monument was restored in 2021, in line with the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines.

Feel free to visit anytime since there is no entrance fee!


Maravilla Beach

 








One of the public Beach in northwest Cebu is found in Tabuelan. 

It has also a wide white sand, and crystal clear water. 

Rooms and cottages are also available nearby if you want to stay overnight.

No entrance fee.

How to get there?

From Northbus Terminal ( new terminal back of SM Cebu),

there are available ceres busses going to Tabuelan.

From proper, ride a motorbike.

It is recommended to ride the "Inday Meme" busses for convenience since their route is in Maravilla. You don't need to ride motorcycle to bring you to the beach.

Lambug White Beach (again! ♡)

 






Lambug White Beach in Badian is one of the hottest go-to beach destinations in Cebu.
It has a crystal clear water, prestine white sand, and relaxing sea breeze that will surely bewitch you.

With the help of the locals in badian, the beach is manage by their barangay officials.
Cleanliness is maintained.
You can also see Police around for security.
Piso wifi is also available around for those who runs out of data.
Piso water refilling machine is also available so you cannot buy again expensive drinking water.

How to get there?
If you are from Cebu City and commuting, go to South Bus.
Air conditioned Ceres busses are available, routed Bato via Barili.
Fare is approximately Php 245.00.

Non-airconditioned busses are also available for cheaper fare.

For tricycle or motobike, fare is php 50-75.
